Career research is part of career development, where you learn to guide clients through the process of exploring their career options. The goal is to know where to start researching sources of opportunity that may include job lead research, company research, industry research and future job market trends, and then be able to apply that research into a meaningful plan of action that clients can implement immediately.

Virtually anyone who  helps others  find a job  or career  should have this certification.

Earning the CDI's CCRE allows the holder to be able to:

• Identify sources of information for career research

• Evaluate and prioritize relevant sources of information for targeted career research

• Lead clients step-by-step through the creation and execution of effective career research plans

• Identify most, if not all, appropriate research targets for clients

• Evaluate the relative worth of various research targets

• Prioritize these research targets in order of importance for clients

For the self-employed, the CCRE offers the knowledge, experience and credibility needed to sell research plans and packages to clients, thus providing another income stream.

For career professionals who are already part of an outplacement or other career consulting organization, it offers vital training and knowledge that will aid in getting clients into new jobs or careers more quickly. It will also enhance the image, reputation and credibility of companies and/or institutions.

Each section of the CCRE is a self-study program that can be completed at your own pace. At the completion of the module, you will submit a completed Career Research Plan or Portfolio for review. Upon approval there will be a timed examination administered via email.
