As the Internet grows as a business environment, so does the need for electronic communications skills. The Certified Electronic Career Coach Program provides Career Management Professionals the opportunity to master and apply critical Internet technology and electronic communications skills to their practices. The 14-week course is administered completely on-line using the state-of-the-art course management system, Blackboard.

CECC modules include:

 

Career Coaching on the Internet, Writing for the Internet, Electronic Portfolio Development, and Marketing and Selling Electronic Portfolio Services.

According to a report published by the International Association of Career Management Professionals on trends and issues affecting the career management industry:

  • Individuals who do not use email will be left out.

  • Individuals must be able to post a resume on the Internet.

  • Traditional facilities and methods of delivering career services will shift to e-commerce.

  • Internet networking is replacing much of the traditional face-to-face interactions.

Further, coaching clients and students online in job searching, resume writing and interview preparation will become commonplace.

The CECC Certification must be renewed every three (3) years by earning 30 career / technology related continuing education units (CEUs) through maintaining an updated web portfolio to CECC course standards (5 points), writing one tutorial / how-to article on a topic related to electronic career technology (5 points) and/or by facilitating at least one online coaching session with an actual client or student and submitting a copy of the session transcription in MS Word (5 points). The renewal fee, if not taking a refresher course, is $50.00.
